The best DAM race in Wisconsin Our 2016 Dam Race was held on Sunday, September 4, 2016. It was a huge success. The winds were brisk - between 10 - 15 mph. with the high temperature at 80 degrees. Ten boats competed in the race: three Cats and seven Cruisers. A total of 58 people joined us for a delicious dinner catered by The Lure. Thanks to Carolyn Scott, Jean Salewsky, Mary Dannen and Penny Callan for organizing this event. On Saturday night, the eve of the race, sailors and friends gathered at the Barnum Bay shelter for a pot luck and corn roast hosted by Rick Georgeson. Everyone brought good food to share. Thanks to Gary Felber and Mike Prissel for helping out with the roasting of the corn. |
This year's race was dedicated to fellow sailor, Judy Gause.
