SCOUT SAIL

We did not have enough participants to hold the Scout Sail in June.  We will try to reschedule for sometime in July
Chair - Doug Dannen
Picture

Adams County Park - Lake Petenwell

4:30 pm - Doug places the markers for the race course.

5:00 pm - Captains' Meeting - discuss objectives and safety concerns and plans for the           race

5:30 pm - Scouts and Captains Meeting -
Discuss safety concerns (Each scout must have his own life vest)
          Divide scouts into boats
          Explain basic sailing points
          Explain objectives for the sail

Captains:
You have one hour to organize and train your crew to sail your boat for the race.
Captains will advise, but the scouts will need to learn how to handle the basic sailing.

One hour after leaving the marina, we will meet at the start mark, all sails down, and start
the race around the markers.

Remember, our objective is to get the scouts interested in the sport of sailing.
